Hauling with Q-Line Logistics

How do I sign up to be a part of the Q-Line Logistics carrier network?

The Q-Line Logistics Broker-Carrier Agreement must be completed by an employee that is authorized to enter your company into legally binding transportation agreements.

What information do I need to sign up as a carrier for Q-Line Logistics?

To sign up to be a carrier in our network, you will need the following information:

  • A valid MC or USDOT number for cross border carriers and/or a valid National Safety Code (NSC) number from the province of registration. Must include NSC cover page showing current status within the past 30 days.
  • A Certificate of Insurance that meets the insurance minimum requirements listed below:

For Canadian Carriers:

  1. Commercial General Liability of not less than $5,000,000 CDN
  2. Comprehensive automobile liability insurance in amounts not less than $2,000,000 CDN combined single limits (whichever requirement is greater)
  3. Excess / Umbrella liability (if applicable) to reach the balance of requirement
  4. All risk cargo insurance in the minimum amount of $400,000 CDN to compensate the parties named on the receipt or bill of lading for loss or damage to property transported by carrier
  5. Workers’ Compensation - statutory limits

For US Carriers:

  1. Employer’s liability coverage with limits of not less than $500,000 USD
  2. Public liability insurance in accordance with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 387, in amounts not less than $5,000,000 USD combined single limits (whichever requirement is greater)
  3. Contractual liability insurance in an amount of $5,000,000 USD
  4. Comprehensive automobile liability insurance in amounts not less than $2,000,000 USD combined single limits or in accordance with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 387 (whichever requirement is greater)
  5. All risk cargo insurance in the minimum amount of $400,000 USD to compensate the parties named on the receipt or bill of lading for loss or damage to property transported by carrier; and
  6. Workers’ Compensation - statutory limits
I just signed up to be a part of Q-Line Logistics carrier network. How long until I can move freight with Q-Line Logistics?

Once you have finished your registration, you can start moving freight with us right away!

Note: If you have a new MC number or NSC number, you must wait 30 days before you can move freight with Q-Line Logistics.

How do I get a point of contact at Q-Line Logistics?

Reach out to us to sign up as a carrier and a Coordinator will be appointed to you.

What is a Coordinator?

Carriers in our network can take advantage of a special perk: your very own Coordinator.

Your Coordinator will:

  • Be your single point of contact
  • Identify freight opportunities that fit your network
  • Negotiate rates
  • Book and schedule loads for you
  • Resolve issues along the way

Q-Line Logistics is here to help you resolve issues no matter the time of day. If you have an issue during normal business hours, contact your Coordinator for help.

How do I update my insurance information?

To update your insurance information, send your new information to your Q-Line Coordinator.

How can I see available loads?

Your Coordinator can provide you with available load details that match your needs.

How can I book available loads?

Our carrier reps send our daily load list to every carrier in our network. Make sure you are on our email list.

You can also contact your rep directly to discuss freight opportunities and book loads.

What kind of loads can I book?

  • Talk to your Coordinator and they will take time to learn you network and preferences, then start hunting down opportunities that may fit.
  • Your Coordinator will provide you with opportunities that could work for you. These opportunities will also grow as new freight enters the network, and your Coordinator will flag potential matches for your fleet
  • You work with your coordinator to try and find a pricing and capacity commitment that works for your business.
  • You agree to the commitment, and we move forward in getting you set up on the account, including possibly onboarding with the customer.
  • You start hauling consistent freight and making reliable revenue. We hold regular meetings with you to report on performance and ensure smooth operation.

Invoicing and Getting Paid

What are Q-Line Logistics' payment terms?

We have streamlined our payment systems, so there is never an issue, and our partner carriers get paid on time, every time.

We offer:

  • 24-hour Haul More Freight. Get paid Faster. Pay Less Fees. QuickPay Program with a 5% reserve with all or a percentage of it paid back. Talk to your Carrier Rep for more details.
  • 3 days – 3% fee, no rebate program for this
  • 30 days – standard payment terms

Time starts from when we received your PODs (Proof of Delivery) and to qualify for 24-hour quick pay PODs must be in by 10:00am the day before. Any PODs received after 10:00am will be paid the next business day for 24-hour QuickPay.

How do I submit an invoice for a load?

You can scan and email the PODs and your invoice to: billing@qline-logistics.com.

Payment terms are negotiated with each individual partner carrier at time of set up. If you wish to change them, please contact your coordinator and they will be happy to assist you.

How can I see my financial history with Q-Line Logistics?

Contact your coordinator and they can send you a copy of your most recent statement.

How should I submit a past due invoice?

Please send past due invoices to billing@qline-logistics.com.

How do I add a factoring company (factor) to my account?

If you do not have a factoring company assigned to your account and would like one assigned, please send an email with a Notice of Assignment to billing@qline-logistics.com.

How do I change factoring companies on my account?

To change factoring companies, please have your previous factoring company send a Release of Assignment and the new factoring company send a Notice of Assignment to billing@qlinelogistics.com.

How do I change my mailing address?

Please email billing@qline-logistics.com to change your address.

How do I change my preferred payment method?

Please email billing@qline-logistics.com to change your preferred payment method.

How do I know if I'm set up for QuickPay?

Send an email to billing@qline-logistics.com to verify your payment preferences or request an alternative payment type.

Accessorial Charges

Q-Line's accessorial charges described below are for any truckload shipment picked up on or after effective March 1, 2022.

What are Q-Line Logistics' detention rates?

Standard detention rate for dry van, power only, reefer and open deck is $50.00CND per hour up to $500 per day on standard loads. Anything over and above this must be negotiated with your Coordinator.

What are the requirements for Q-Line Logistics' detention policy?

The following are required to qualify for detention on Q-Line Logistics shipments:

  • Carriers must arrive on-time for their appointment unless the location is first come first serve (FCFS).
  • Carriers are eligible to request detention starting two hours after the appointment time or arrive time in the event of the FCFS location.
  • Carriers must submit shippers Bill of Lading with arrival and departure times signed by the location within 24 hours of delivery at the final stop.
  • Carriers must request detention within 24 hours of delivery at the final stop.
How can I submit a detention request?

Carriers should submit all detention requests through their coordinator.

Where is Q-Line Logistics' standard accessorial policy applicable?

For any stop within the Canada and/or the United States.

What is Q-Line Logistics' extra pick or drop charge policy?

Q-Line Logistics pays $100 per stop for dry van, power only, open deck and reefer shipment unless negotiated prior to tending the shipment to the carrier or per customer policy.

What is Q-Line Logistics' layover policy?

If a driver arrives on-time but will not be loaded or unloaded for 7 or more hours, carriers may be entitled to:

  • $500 CDN per day for dry van and power only shipments
  • $500 CDN per day for reefer and open deck shipments
What is Q-Line Logistics' TONU (truck order not used) policy?

When applicable, $150 USD per van trailer shipment or power only shipment and $250 USD per refrigerated shipment or open deck trailer shipment.

How should I notify Q-Line Logistics about lumpers or detention?

You can notify Q-Line Logistics about lumpers or detention by contacting the coordinator that booked the load.
